Step One: Install USB-TTL Chip Drivers on your Computer

Enhanced SP200SE has this chip called CH340T to have USB interface. CH340T converts USB data into TTL serial data stream. One must install CH340T drivers to use SP200SE.

Install these drivers and make sure after installing the driver you have a COM Port listed on your device manager. May be something like COM13, COM2 etc. If it is not listed in device manager try restarting your operating system.

If your COM Port number is in 2 digits i.e. 10, 12, 13….your SP200SE will not work as it needs a single digit name of com port number. So its time to change your com port number to single digit.

Step Two: Convert COM PORT number to Single Digit, If not already in single digit.

Once port number is in single digit, you are all set to use SP200SE to program your MCU/ EEPROM.

Step Three: Install WLPro Programmer Software

Download and Install WLPro, Once it is installed check if the WLPro software detects the SP200SE Hardware.

Step Four: Choose Device and Program/ Verify/ Read/ Protect etc.

A drawback of re-chipping a car’s engine is it is likely to invalidate any original manufacturer warranty, if your car is new enough to have this. If you have an older car, a re-chip might not yield the gains you hope for due to the engine being higher mileage and more worn inside.



Another major consideration with a re-chipped engine is you must tell your insurance company the work has been carried out. By re-chipping the engine, your car is classed as modified and that will probably mean a higher premium, so be careful what you wish for.

Another final point is re-chipping a car’s engine does not provide something for nothing. Some re-chips may deliver greater power or fuel economy, but they may come with a lull in power somewhere in the rev range.
